Apple is expected to release iOS 26 in September 2025, introducing new features that may impact how you receive calls and texts from Upshur County Schools through PowerSchool?s SmartFind Express system. What?s Changing in iOS 26? Apple is adding two features aimed at reducing unwanted communications: Screen Unknown Senders (Messages): Messages from numbers not saved in your Contacts will be filtered into a separate folder. These messages won?t appear in your main inbox by default. Screen Unknown Callers (Calls): Incoming calls from unsaved numbers will be screened, showing the caller?s name/reason before you choose to answer. How This May Affect You SmartFind Express uses voice calls and texts to communicate job offers and other district notifications. If the district?s SmartFind Express numbers are not saved in your Contacts, you may: Miss job offer calls or other important communications. Have messages routed to a hidden folder, delaying your response. Even verified or branded calls will not bypass these filters unless you?ve previously saved or interacted with the district?s SmartFind Express number. What You Can Do To ensure you continue receiving timely communications: Save the district?s SmartFind Express phone numbers (for both voice and SMS) in your Contacts. Review your iOS 26 settings once the update is available: Check the ?Unknown Senders? folder in Messages. Adjust filtering preferences if needed.
